You may have heard of the biocube aquarium and the Dennerle Nano Cube, two well-known nano aquariums. Despite having somewhat similar sounds, they differ in a few significant ways. Both of these tanks can be utilized for freshwater, coldwater, or nano marine setups, although one may be a preferable option based on your particular requirements.Which of the two, biocube aquarium or BioCube, is superior? In this biocube vs micro cube comparison, I’ve given an in-depth examination and analysis of both aquariums to assist you in selecting the one that’s ideal for you.
The biocube aquarium is an excellent choice if you don’t have a lot of room because the largest size weighs just 60 liters. (roughly 15.85 US gallons). The biocube aquarium seems to be a cube because its height is greater than its length. You can see the tank from almost any angle thanks to its panoramic front corners. You receive a glass cover, a black decorative foil background, & a base protective sheet with the biocube aquarium. Glass tanks generally have a nicer aesthetic than plastic tanks. Additionally undesirable for saltwater & reef installations are acrylic tanks.
The biocube aquarium is available in sizes ranging from 14 gallons to 32 gallons. Unlike the biocube aquarium, the larger versions of the tank take some space to set up, therefore they are not suited for placement on a desk or side table. You cannot remove the biocube aquarium cover without using force because it is hinged to the top of the tank. Although less streamlined than the glass cover of the biocube aquarium, this does include a convenient aperture for feeding.Curved edges on the tank provide a lovely finishing touch. Overall, I believe that the biocube aquarium design and aesthetic appeal more.
The biocube aquarium would seem especially great in planted arrangements. There are two versions of the Nano Cube: Basic and Complete. The tank includes a filter and an LED light in the Basic version. A filter and LED lamp are included in the Complete edition, but it also comes with a thermometer, substrate, & soil that is rich in nutrients for plant growth.A built-in filtering system for the biocube aquarium is situated in the rear of the tank. With this system, you may alter the water flow rate thanks to a subterranean pump, a dual input tube, & an adjustable return nozzle. The filtering method makes use of three chambers.
Water treatment takes place in the first, the submersible pump is kept in the second, and the heater & filter media are kept in the third. The biocube aquarium 16 pump can move 185 GPH of water, whereas the biocube aquarium 32 can move 264 GPH of water. The biocube aquarium is less portable and compact than the biocube aquarium despite having an excellent feature that the Quantum Cube does not have: built-in filtration.

Reviews & Purchasing Experiences
User: purchased this and reviewed that “Pretty Happy” While not the cheapest tank, this packs a lot of value having a sump and acrylic as well as a built in light that you can schedule. I am a beginner and this tank is serving me well. I am one month into ownership and there are no flaws other than you will need to have a very small heater, and if you buy the skimmer you will need to pull out a blank that is put in the first chamber (if you are looking at it from the front it its the right chamber which is the return chamber).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Three independently controllable lighting channels are available. Red, Green, and Blue LEDs combined to provide a combination of white, blue, and color-enhancing LEDs.
The output of the OEM pump is 264 gph. Better pumps are available from Sicce, Rio, and Tunze. I’ve always used a pump with a little higher flow rate in place of the OEM pumps in my biocubes.
A UV sterilizer light can be used. I think Coralife offers one. The modification is simple. However, if you run off more gammon a few hours a week, it will harm corals and copepods. Normally, a new fish is only added to the tank when the UV Sterilizer is turned on. All I use is a UV sterilizer. When I put a new fish in my quarantine tank, I become that tank.
Not at all a good idea—way too much weight. The weight would probably cause the dresser to break. You must make sure that your cabinet or floor can support the weight of your aquariums because one gallon of liquid weighs 8.34 pounds. That’s just the weight of the water; you also need to account for the living rock and sand.
The final image depicts how chamber 2 is set up with a protein skimmer. The filters typically reside in the second chamber. (mechanical, biological, chemical). A “inTank” media basket is sometimes substituted for the one that comes within the tank by certain individuals, myself included. I can add a protein skimmer because it’s smaller. The filter that comes with the tank cannot be used to install a skimmer in chambers 2.
The number typically denotes gallons; for example, Biocube 16 is 16 gallons & Biocube 32 is 32 gallons. If you’re unsure, check out the manufacturer’s website, which should provide further information. My Biocube 16 carried 16 gallons; these newer units appear to be significantly superior to the older ones.

The BC16 is mentioned in a few of these answers. The BC32 carries around 25 real gallons of water and is a little bigger than the BC29. The size and type of fish have a significant impact on fish number. I advise you to speak with an LFS or cattle supplier.
