Yes- it’s very difficult to put together because sleep revolution will send you the wrong item and then refuse to let you return it or give you your money back. It’s illegal so I will sue them but still- very frustrating. Amazon should not allow sleep revolution to sell on this site
You could lay it possibly on top of the slats but I would not do that. The headboard is pretty short so if you put a box spring and a mattress your headboard would disappear. I have a 14 inch Costco gel mattress and only 14 inches of headboard is showing. Also, honestly there is no need for a box spring. The slats work very well.
