I purchased the gray one and it had the tripod base. Don’t remember if the description said round or not but mine was tripod which I wanted. Hope this helps.
I thought that too, but if you start with the top column, it only has one threading (the very top of the rack is smooth), then you should be able to see which is middle and bottom. You just have them in the wrong order or flipped the wrong way. Good luck. I bought two of these because they are great! I use one in my bedroom to hang robe and PJ’s on in the morning
