Yes… mine did after nearly 20 years. I’m replacing my original Pyrex 1 cup i purchased in early 1990s. I always washed top rack in dishwasher. Finally, all painted markings wore off and was useless. Plus, it had some chips on the edges. I say I got my money’s worth.
this crap is World Kitchen made “pyrex” based on cheap soda lime glass, which is why it only has a 2 year warranty, so they will shatter from abrupt temperature changes. for the real thing, look for borosilicate glass with a 5-10 year warranty – that’s the “pyrex” your mother used to buy, which is still made by Corning, and by companies in England and France.
I had that problem with my first Pyrex measuring cup. The dishwasher detergent is the problem. With my second measuring cup, I rarely wash it in the dishwasher. The writing held up but unfortunately, I chipped the spout. So far with the two new ones I bought, the print is not fading but I have yet to wash them in the dishwasher.

Pyrex can be broken with a lot of effort. It is a glass developed by Corning and is very resistant to extreme temperature fluctuation and also to rough handling. I broke a Pyrex banking dish after 10 years of use when I dropped a heavy frying pan on it. I don’t know of any measuring cups that have broken, but it is possible.
Both my 8 cup and my 2 cups have faded terribly and they not often used and are less than 5 years old. This especially happens on the bottom half where most of the liquids you measure would likely sit. I have complained to Pyrex and sent photos. Disappointed that I received no response from them.
I have a 2 cup and a 4 cup that nest easily. I think that as long as the handle design is as pictured (as opposed to the older ones that are designed like a coffee mug handle) they will nest nicely. The handle fits over the outside of the next size up cup.
For glass, the Anchor Hocking Batter Bowl is what I prefer – it is a totally clear bowl with handle and marked with raised measure marks + plastic Snap-On lid. (Around $15)
Melamine mixing bowls- set of 3 with grip are also nice to use if you don’t like glass. The rubber gasket in the bottom makes them very secure. More expensive though…around $30.

I don’t think so. The lid is a part of the item. Whether you purchase it here or in the grocery store, it comes as one. Someone may be selling it separately as a replacement. The cup alone is what makes the price, so if you don’t need it, just tuck it away.
Do you mean a wire wisk or do you mean a hand-held mixer. I prefer using a wisk that’s silicone coated. One only costs a dollar or two. It’s easier to clean. The 1-ounce cup size is large enough for a hand-held mixer, I think.
just measured: height right about 5 1/2″ maybe a wee bit more w/lid but not much; for sure not 6, 7 or 10; i luv it – mainly for mixing; don’t use much w/lid for refrig storage
