Shopsister Purchased 110v mini split and review that HELP! I purchased end of July 2020 to put in the sunroom to be built. The construction finished in 2021. I had a hard time finding an installer. The unit cost $1100 and cost $1500 to have it installed. after using right at one year it wouldn’t work. Another $100 service call and was told the compressor was grounded I would need a new unit. My HVAV technician called the service line and haven’t heard anything. So after only using one year, at a cost of $2700…i have a wall unit with no working compressor. we just had record lows of -6 degrees below zero and I am so upset. No response…no working unit…no joke!

I live in temps that go to zero. The seer ratings are for AC, however, the units work well down to 10 degrees F. I’ve had them working to -10. The units are efficient. Leave them on no lower than 68 degrees at night and the turn them up to a comfortable temp during the day; don’t shut them off if super cold.
I would say the interior part might. I didn’t weigh it. The outside unit definitely weighs more. I am getting ready to install my two (2) new 9k units and the shipping info says 230 lbs. With pallet? I don’t Know. To add some unsolicited information; I have gotten rid of my central unit. I have a 9k unit in each of my three bedrooms and one 12k unit in the LR and one in the kitchen.
I used 120 for convenience. Might have done 240 for 12000 btu, but 9000 draw is under 10 amps so no big deal on a dedicated run. Very happy with this unit!

Installed the 12,000 BTW (120vac) unit myself. Easy Peaky – Installed an outdoor 120vac outlet, used a 10guage 120vac cord on the outdoor unit. Rented a vacuum pump for pennies. Yes, you can connect a Senville wired thermostat to the system. Third party thermostats will not work, unless compatibility is specified.
The 30,000 Btu unit has a load of 18.4 amps and would require a 25/30-amp circuit breaker and #10 wire. The smaller units only need #12 wire and a 15 or 20-amp circuit breaker, depending on the unit capacity. The smaller 240 volt units may not allow a 20-amp circuit breaker, if they only consume 7 amps total. But if you have a 20-amp circuit, and two units, it can run two of the 7.7 amp units on one breaker.
Have not purchased yet but would point out the warranty requires professional installation. So you can do it yourself but anything stops working during offered warranty period the aren’t going to cover it.
If you the longer line set no more than 20 feet you don’t need add freon, if you use 25 feed line set you’d better add 2oz freon, if 50 feet add 4-5 oz. But please use a pressure gauge to monitor when adding Freon, 150-180psi in cooling mode
