If you install the separately available fan it too has a thermostat that kicks it on automatically when it reaches a specific temp. If I remember correctly it is set to 80 degrees which it will reach within a minute because the heater runs very hot.
I have owned a few of these. I have 2 now. I have found that different propane hose regulators work differently on these heaters. The regulator is that round thing connected to the hose. I can put a hose with 1 regulator on it and the pilot will go out sometimes. I put a different hose and it never goes out. I don’t know why, and I can’t tell you what regulator to buy. That is my experience.
I use these heaters at 9300 feet and they work fantastic. I have never had a problem. No fumes or burning issues. I recommend them. I have 4 of these heaters in my mountain home and use them as zoned heating throughout the house as I like different rooms at different temperatures as controlled by the thermostats.
