At first, I thought I’d gotten a dud because my first cup wasn’t very warm and the morning after I first used it, I found a puddle of water on the counter. I’ve since found that I need to let the machine warm up for about 15 minutes and steam the milk for a while to get a piping hot cappuccino. Basically, this isn’t a commercial grade machine and I shouldn’t expect to make a drink as quickly as Starbucks can! And the water issue just hasn’t recurred, so I don’t know what was going on there. It be happier if the lever attachment for the grounds were easier to engage but I’m admittedly a weakling.

I’d like to kno IF the porta filter you bought fit/worked… And IF SO, exactly what model was it… I have purchased 2 porta filters & neither one has worked with this machine. (1 of the porta filters was an OEM replacement porta filter for Delonghi, but I believe it was for the Dedica 885 model machine.
If the espresso machine is running normally, but there is no coffee coming out, it means that the pump cannot draw any water from the water tank. Please re-install the water tank 2-3 times. Turn on the machine and turn the steam knob to the WATER position to let the hot water come out for 20 seconds. Then return the steam knob to the OFF position. Please check if the issue has been resolved.
It will produce a 2oz shot. I normally wait a few seconds then hit the double shot again and get another strong 2oz shot. 4oz of espresso with 5oz of warm milk froth added is my perfect cup of caffeine for the day. BTW…after going through 3 other espresso makers, this one is king.

The bean grinder is an additional appliance (as this being an all-in-one set, we had to include it!). You cannot fill the porta filter with beans that are not ground. You can always purchase your beans already ground if you do not want to use the grinder each time also! The bean grinder however only takes 20-30 seconds to finely grind them.
I don’t know as it is enclosed. I’ve had the machine for about 4 months and use it almost daily. I am very pleased with the product. There only one quirk….sometimes the on/off button does not immediately respond but after pressing it a few times, it responds. I was worried it would completely fail but after all these months its still working – quirk included.

Hi, I’m not sure what a BACKFLUSH is. But this much I can tell you is that I followed the instruction manual. Before making a cup of espresso, put a cup under the downspout and press either single or double shot button, running water through the machine and warming the water. I usually wipe clear any residual grounds still left behind with a sponge. Then I add the filter under the spout and lock in place. The coffee cup you choose. Turn the frother dial to clouds and let the water trickle out a few seconds and turn to off. Then press the single or double shot button. After that. Brewing the espresso into the cup. Press the last button on right to light up and warm the frother a few seconds. The last button off and then wait for the light to pulse, off and on and turn the dial for frother on to clouds and more setting, and of course the milk pitcher and wand buried in milk is ready for frothing. YOU will need to buy a Frothing pitcher, metal online as I did since the machine doesn’t come with one. Hope this helps. Don’t’ forget to wipe the drying milk off the frothing wand with a wet cloth each time.
I have no idea. When I ordered it, it showed a frothing carafe and the box, and did not say they were not included anywhere. Then, when I opened it there were two sets of directions and way too many safety warnings. I found it daunting and worrisome, so I returned it.
