That is how I mount my entire window AC’s where there is only one window to the outside in the room. It is more work, but you don’t give up the only window you have in the room. Typically, you would decide on a location where an Electrical outlet is available, and where air flow is optimum. Cut the drywall or whatever you have on the inside about 2 inches larger all around (4 inches larger than unit). Cut and fit your 2×4 frame (I find using metal L brackets make the job much easier when you add your horizontal studs that attach to the verticals on both sides. You will be cutting one vertical away to make room for the unit. Build yourself a plywood platform and (2) 2×4 braces cut at 45 degrees. Install this assembly on the bottom horizontal 2×4 in wall after you cut out the exterior material, and also attach braces to outside using long screws, and or the same type of metal brackets you used on your internal wall box section. The plywood platform should go just inside the interior wall, about 2 inches beyond the horizontal 2×4. This sounds like a lot of work, but is well worth it, as if the AC fails, you can just slide in a new one. Use any insulation to fill in around the AC unit

I have a Kill-a-watt clone on this unit, and both answers are correct. It draws about 8 Amps peak (when the compressor comes on), and 4 to 5 Amps running. Depending on how close your line voltage is to 120V, this could vary by 10% or more. A lower line voltage will draw more amps.
Many units have a plug in the drain hole i had one that gave very little air because the water in the bottom gets splashed up on the fins to cool them but slows the fan
I have the 8,000 unit and will be buying this larger one. NOW, here are my tips regarding the remote sensor. Temps vary in different areas of a single room depending on the age of house and room configuration. If your sensor is getting direct sunlight on it the temp readings will, of course, be off. What I do is set the sensor within 3-5 feet of where I sit the most. I also make sure that the sensor is pointing directly towards the air conditioner with no obstructed line of site. Oh, if you can please make sure to put your Air conditioner in a directionally cooler window location. Believe me, a Northern location for any AC is ideal. The AC has to work a lot less at maintaining temps when it does not have the extra sun beating down on it all day. Seems obvious but I made that locational mistake and fixed it. HUGE difference for the AC and less cooling stress means longer life span. Oh, another room for the Sensor location is a BAD idea. My 8000 BTU Frigidaire cooled one medium and one small room with the door open between the two and a small fan to push the cool air from the larger room to the smaller one. The Sensor always lived in the room with AC unit and a good line of site

If you have a vinyl window frame/casing with recess on the lower side, cut a piece of timber exactly to size so as to fill the recess void. That will have the unit resting on the timber, rather than the vinyl’s edges. And, it’s removable if or when you take the AC down.
This unit is supposed to work with Alexa and google home. Good luck getting it connected to Wi-Fi. Buyer beware
