I bought a unit in 2017 (still working in 2021). I bought a second unit in 2020 (they changed the model by updating it to “ARC-14S”. The newer generation has the light in the LED panel go off after about a min. The old one remains on. Helpful at night. Keep in mind the date of the review as peeps have varying models. At full speed, the sound is noticeable, but you get used to it. Better than it being 90 degrees at night. I set it to auto turn off before my alarms come on just in case. My first model is 4 years and still working. Second is 1 year and still working. Yes, it’s heavy. If you’re not 6 feet+ in good shape, or a body builder, pray you don’t need to move this up the stairs repeatedly. On level ground, it’s got wheels so it moves easy.
No. I have been running my device consistently in my server room at 68 degrees for about 4 months, and I have not had to drain the unit to this point. There is a water tank and a sensor that indicates if the tank needs to be emptied. I am very happy w/ this device.
The unit only option does include the window kit. There is no need to purchase the option with the additional kit unless the included window kit is not long enough to cover your window opening and you are in need of an additional kit.
There is a soft beep when turning unit off or on. Otherwise, you would not know if your push of the button was recognized as is necessary with most of today’s push buttons.
You will welcome this beep even more so when using the remote because the unit does not always recognize remote control changes. These things are always able to be silenced
by the determined.
There is a self-evaporative system that auto-drains the unit. You can also manually drain it and run the fan to dry the inside out.
