Slim purchased window ac unit 12000 Btu and reviewed that “Works well Control panel discolored.” First, it works, it’s not too loud, and seems fine, but I think I received a refurbished unit. The control panel is severely discolored as if exposed to the sun or a smoker’s home. If not for that, I would rate it 5 stars. The top bar was also already attached which is unusual. Otherwise, it looks new, even the inside, and it works great. I’m keeping it because it works and I need it, but I’m a bit worried about how long it will last of it is indeed refurbished.

This unit is REALLY intended to be installed in a window. However, I installed it in wall TODAY and did not use the sleeve (good thing because the sleeve arrived THE WRONG SIZE, so I have to return it. It is a neat, compact model, looks good, have not used it enough to know re use. If you use the sleeve, just be REALLY SURE it is the right size. The sleeve vents from back (good), the unit itself vents on sides…so depends on how thick your wall is…don’t let wall cover the side vents on unit. Otherwise it works exactly like a window A/C.
